Adultos Felices

Non-pharmacological therapies for the overall well-being of older adults

We support, stimulate and strengthen the well-being of older adults who have been abandoned or have limited support networks, through meaningful experiences.

Adultos Felices is a FUNDEHI program focused on developing non-pharmacological therapies for older adults, especially those who have been abandoned or have limited support networks.

During 2026 we supported 60 older adults from two care centers in Soacha, through strategies aimed at promoting their cognitive, physical, emotional, social and occupational well-being.

How do we run the program?

The therapies are carried out through activities designed around the characteristics and needs of each group:

  • Cognitive stimulation: memory, attention, concentration, language, orientation and solving everyday situations.
  • Psychomotor stimulation: coordination, movement and motor skills.
  • Physical activity: adapted exercises that support independence and well-being.
  • Art therapy: artistic languages for expression, creativity and emotional well-being.
  • Music: to stir memories, emotions, participation and connection with others.
  • Games and recreational activities: spaces for enjoyment and socializing.
  • Birthday and special-occasion celebrations: they strengthen a sense of belonging and self-worth.

Support that goes beyond therapy

In addition to the therapies, we contribute to food security and, when specific needs arise, we help secure requested medical supplies, within the program's means. This way we support the cognitive, physical, emotional, social and nutritional dimensions.

Training that makes an impact

Adultos Felices is also a training ground for future professionals. During 2026 we welcomed 15 interns in Social Work, Psychology, Education and other social disciplines, supervised by a professional psychologist.

We support older adults by recognizing their history, their abilities and their dignity, creating spaces where every gathering has a purpose and every person feels valued.
