At FUNDEHI we believe that strengthening a community starts with strengthening its families.
During 2026 we supported 120 families from different districts and neighborhoods of Soacha, with an average of 3 to 4 members per family. The process relies on 9 community leaders, who support the families in their neighborhoods and are an ongoing bridge between FUNDEHI and the community.
Training that reaches the neighborhoods
Every month, the leaders take part in training sessions led by FUNDEHI's professional team and then share what they've learned with the families they support. The process is followed up continuously and, depending on their needs, families can receive therapeutic support.
Six dimensions of well-being
Relational · Emotional · Physical · Financial · Mental · Spiritual. During 2026 we have run processes on:
- Life purpose.
- Healthy habits for mind and body.
- Emotional well-being and relationships.
- Family strengthening.
- Emergency prevention and preparedness.
- Other topics identified based on the communities' needs.
Families ready for new challenges
In 2026 we added a disaster prevention and risk management process, with special attention to areas of Altos de Cazucá, working together with the Fire Department, the Soacha Mayor's Office and the Health Department, among other organizations.
We also care for the caregivers
In addition to their monthly training, the leaders have a monthly art therapy session. The process is supported by an interdisciplinary team: a Social Worker, an Educational Psychologist and a Psychologist.
Comprehensive support for families
During 2026 there were 3 rounds of food package deliveries, reaching 360 deliveries to families, and more than 200 people benefited from the sourcing and delivery of medical supplies.
We train leaders to strengthen families, and we strengthen families to build communities.
